Antique Tools Don’t Need Electricity

If you’re on the handy side, you may have a plethora of power tools on hand, but the case of spotty access to electricity, or worse, a set of basic, non-electric woodworking tools are your best friend, especially when you combine them with human ingenuity.
Everyone should have a few basic tools, just on principal: a hammer, screwdriver set, saw and level. After that, you may have an electric or battery powered drill, or electric saw – useless in the aftermath of an EMP attack, or in the event of general power instability.
The Home Handy Book, printed in 1917, provides a list of what were, at the time, carpentry essentials.
