The Home Handy Book (1917)

This book is about more than home repairs. Resourceful and handy folks will find instructions on how to use simple tools to make a plethora of useful items, including:
- How to make an alarm clock
- how to make an electric door alarm
- how to make an electric fire detector
- how to install a burglar alarm trap
- keeping gas cooking stoves in order
- how to make a self-setting mouse trap
- how to make a cheap water filter and cooler

Some of the instructions are definitely archaic; hopefully, you’ll never need to know about how to fix lead water pipes, and some of the chemicals used may be a bit sus. Most of it, however, is evergreen.
